To drive a
school bus in Spartanburg School District 2 you must have a class B CDL
license with a P&S endorsement. You must also possess a South Carolina School
bus certificate. Also, you are required to pass the Department of
Transportation physical.
- Once you have attended
school bus class you should then get your DOT physical.
- You then have to go to the
DMV and take four computer test to receive your CDL class B permit.

Once you have your
permit you may start your behind the wheel training. You are required to have 10
hours behind the wheel training with a certified trainer.
- After your training you
will take a physical performance test. This test consist of a series of physical
test to determine if you are capable of evacuating a bus in the event of an
accident.
- You will then be ready to
take the DMV test. This test consist of three parts. This is covered in sections
10, 11, and 12 of the commercial drivers manual.
