The Old Oakland School
History is repeating itself in Spartanburg School District Two. The Board of Trustees resurrected the name of a District Two school that existed in the early 20th Century to christen the new elementary school at the corner of Highway 9 and Mud Creek Road just north of Boiling Springs. The original Oakland Elementary School was located on Sugar Ridge Road a short distance from the new school site and holds fond memories for many area residents who attended the school.
