A Young Man's LifeJuly 16, 2012

Aaron Christopher Brown, 18, 2012 graduate of Boiling Springs High School, passed away from injuries received in a car accident this past Friday on Old Furnace Road.  His mother is the bookkeeper at BSHS, his father is a teacher and coach at Chapman High School in District One, he has an older brother and a younger sister, a rising sophomore at the school.

Aaron was a fine young man, involved in student council, senior board (he was always doing service projects at the school), and he played baseball for the Bulldogs (he was a fine player, and I always liked how he looked with the goatee thing he often had going on).

As you might expect, the funeral home was packed last evening with concerned family, friends, neighbors, Aaron's peers and his teachers trying to bring comfort and to ease the grief of the family.

When I was 23, my younger brother, John, who was 19 at the time, died in an automobile accident.  I had my own sorrow, but the toll it took on my parents was way beyond that.  They coped the best they could by continuing to trust in the Lord.  They endured a long season of pain, but there did come a time when they could again find joy.

Aaron will be missed.  Our duty is to keep hope alive for his family and for his classmates and to continue to fight the good fight as we serve the students on our watch.
