SLA Students Learn Life-Saving SkillsJuly 13, 2017

Today, the more than 200 elementary students enrolled in our District’s Summer Learning Academy (SLA) learned CPR, as well as other potentially life-saving lessons, as part of an action packed Community Day.

The event is a partnership supporting education by highlighting the organizations that support our community through goods and services. This day also helps to build relationships and trust between public officials and our future leaders. The following community partners visited SLA to share their expertise.

Spartanburg Regional Health Care provided CPR training for all of our students.

Regional One

Boiling Springs Fire Department

Spartanburg EMS

Spartanburg Sheriff's Office with their K9 Unit

Spartanburg Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad Unit

SLA Director Ashley Roberts says students gained information that will benefit their lives and impact their future.

“We are grateful for the time and expertise our community members shared with our Summer Learning Academy students,” Roberts said. “The positive impact of this experience will last far beyond our summer program!”
