Spartanburg Two student Yolanda Lopez  has been  named the Spartanburg Community College Foreign Language Student of the Year. Yolanda takes classes at SCC as part of the Spartanburg County Early College High School (SCECHS) program.

“I was thrilled when I heard that Yolanda had earned this honor," said Spartanburg District Two Asst. Superintendent Dr. Angela Hinton. "Yolanda is part of our first cohort of students at SCECHS and will be in the first group to graduate from the program next year! She is very deserving of this recognition.”

SCECHS is an innovative partnership between the seven Spartanburg County School Districts and SCC. The program was developed to graduate students with a high school diploma and the first two years of transferable college credit or associate degree in preparation for high growth, high demand jobs of the 21st century.
