WYFF4 Golden Apple Award:
OES Teacher Stacey Johnson Picked

Oakland Elementary fourth grade teacher Stacey Johnson was "picked" as a January weekly WYFF4 Golden Apple award winner. Anchor Beth Brotherton and photojournalist Scott Enwright joined her class for the culmination of their "Tread Lightly" Project-Based Learning module and for an impromptu recess to see how the Buddy bench concept works on the school's playground.

Johnson was nominated by Jennifer Bruce, parent of a child in her class. In the nomination, she described Mrs. Johnson as a "phenomenal educator" who "creates an environment where children can explore ideas, question what they do not understand, and push each other to achieve goals each day."
