Spartanburg Two Schools Add to
Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards Chest

The Palmetto Gold and Palmetto Silver awards program, now in its tenth year, was created by the South Carolina General Assembly to recognize schools attaining high levels of absolute performance, high rates of growth, and substantial progress in closing achievement gaps between groups of students.

District Two schools have achieved recognition through this awards program every year since its establishment, with individual schools winning up to eight times.

Principals of the following District Two schools were presented the state’s 2010–11 Palmetto Gold and Silver awards at the district’s May Board Meeting. The schools received an award flag and certificate for outstanding general performance and a certificate for closing achievement gaps.
