The Eagle is the Universal Symbol for Renaissance

The following are the Quarterly Awards for 2011-2012 at Boiling Springs high School. We decided to name them for some pretty special people. We named them for former teachers at BSHS. We hope that as you read over the list and the memorials/honors that you will feel the same sense of pride we felt when we contacted them for their permission to do so. The following descriptions appear on the certificates to identify them to the winner and their parents.

Janie Putnam- The Social Studies Award

Mrs. Putnam was a US History teacher at Boiling Springs High School for more that 30 years. Her indelible spirit and love of country translated into well trained students and citizens. She was a huge part of the ‘Bulldog” spirit in her tenure here. It is with great honor that we award this certificate in her name.

Maggie Seymore- The Science Award

Mrs. Seymore had a profound effect upon many of the students she taught. From the Science Club she led, to the lab experiment that lit a fire in some student’s heart to teach, she was a wonderful inspiration to her classes. She retired in 1987 and now resides in Alabama. It is with great honor we present this certificate in her name.

Mary Jo Combs- Vocational/Electives Award

Mrs. Combs taught at Boiling Springs High School from 1959 –1991. She taught Typing, Shorthand, Keyboarding and Computer.
