Section 5

Developing the Action Plan

Introduction:

During the 2004-2005 school year we developed action plans to address each of the three target area goals for student learning identified as priorities for our school improvement plan:  Learning to Learn Skills, Interpersonal Skills, and Personal and Social Responsibility.  The plans address and include provisions for educating the faculty in strategies to improve time and classroom management skills.

Considering the results of a faculty survey about the proposed improvement areas, each of the action plans was devised by committee and presented to the faculty for suggestions and approval.  Following this input, plans were finalized as outlined on the following pages.  In addition to specifying the action steps for each plan, we have indicated the timeline, estimated resources required to implement the plan, and the person(s) responsible for coordinating the action steps.

Additionally, some ideas that were discussed among the faculty while working on Section 5 have merit but at this time are not attainable due to budget constraints and decisions that are made above the building level.  For these reasons the goals in the action plan meet the criteria that they will be measurable as well as that they are under the jurisdiction and control of the stakeholders that work within the building known as the 9th Grade Campus of Boiling Springs High School.
