Section 2
Beliefs and Mission
Boiling Springs High School 9th Grade campus set out to define its beliefs by establishing its own unique identity. The beliefs and mission of the main campus of Boiling Springs High School as well as Spartanburg School District 2 were examined.
The initial mission statement developed by the leadership team in 2002 was revised to better reflect the true vision of our school. The belief statements were reached through a consensus of all faculty present during Wednesday afternoon meetings throughout the months of February, March, April, and May of 2004. The profile data was examined as the basis for the belief statements. The NSSE School Beliefs Inventory was administered as an origin for the discussion surrounding our school beliefs and mission. The faculty remained faithful in its goal to create a statement that indicates its commitment to its students.
Both the mission/vision and the belief statements reflect our focus on the future. As a community we must hold high expectations for all students. All members of the community must share in the responsibility of education in order for the vision to be realized.
