Technology has created powerful new ways to learn for all of us, whether it's "Googling" a much-needed fact, watching a YouTube video on how to fix the faucet, or using GPS tools to get us where we need to go. Building upon Spartanburg 2's historical success, EXCEL seeks to use technology to create exciting, new teaching and learning opportunities. EXCEL includes two major components:

  1. a new vision of learning enabled by technology
  2. a device for anytime, anywhere learning for each student in grades three through twelve and better access to devices for students in kindergarten to second grade.
These new opportunities will not only prepare our students for college and careers, but will also make them better stewards of our community.

We understand that you may have concerns about your child's access to the internet. The district provides web filtering at our schools to greatly decrease the chance your child will access anything inappropriate. We are working on offering that same web filtering for students when using the iPad at home. However, we also recommend encouraging safe and ethical practices with your child. On this page you will find resources to help you keep your child safe while using the internet.

For more information please see our FAQ.

For home use, you may consider using parental controls provided by your internet service provider.
