As you may already know, the middle school band program has experienced tremendous growth over the past four years, doubling in total size!  As we have grown in size, we have also grown in need. 

 Many of our students are asked and allowed to play “school owned instruments” such as oboes, tenor saxophones, baritones, tubas, and percussion because of the expense associated with those instruments.  (For example, a new baritone saxophone costs $3200.00!)  We are at a point now where the need has become overbearing, and we need to take action.  It is time for us to add to our instrument inventory and make necessary repairs to our current over worked stock, and we need your help.

 Our middle school band program currently participates in the General Mills Box Tops for Education program.  We are issuing a plea for the help of our faculty, staff, and community.  First, please check your houses for any available box tops and bring them in!  Secondly, please forward this e-mail to as many people as possible to extend our network of supporters.  I am asking that all of you serve as intermediaries, collecting Box Tops from anyone you know and committing to bringing them back to Chesnee Middle.  Please return any Box Tops to the Band Room (408) as soon as possible.  This call is urgent and time sensitive as these Box Tops must be postmarked by March 1^st in order to receive payment in time for next school year.
