PowerSchool for Parents: Passwords Available for Pick-up Friday, February 12, 2010
On Friday, February 12, Spartanburg School District Two will debut the parent portal in PowerSchool, the web-based student information system the state is implementing in our schools. Please plan to come to BSJH on February 12th from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to obtain your parent ID and password. To protect unauthorized access to student information, parents must come to the school and present picture identification such as a driver’s license in order to receive the parent ID and password for the portal.
In order to assist parents with this new technology, we are opening our computer labs on February 12 so that parents can access the parent portal and receive assistance from our computer lab teachers immediately after obtaining their ID and passwords. We encourage parents to come and experience the parent portal.
We are excited about this new tool which will allow parents to check their child’s grades and attendance at any time. In order to help ensure up-to-date information and grades, teachers will have tests and assignments graded and entered within one week of the students’ completion of these items unless there is an extenuating circumstance such as a teacher’s absence. For example, the grade for a test given on Friday would be available the following Friday. |
