We will continue our study of fall this week. We will
continue to talk about seasonal changes that we notice in
the fall, and we will take a look at different vegetables
that are harvested in fall!!
“Jj” and “Vv” Please notice that beginning this week we will
focus on two letters each week, so that we will have studied
all 26 letters of the alphabet by Christmas!
We will not study any new sight words this week, but
will instead use this week to review all 27 sight words
and 10 color words that we have learned so far this
year. Please make sure your child can read the words we
have studied so far this year. These words will be
assessed on the report card.
homework for this week is attached. Please make sure
your child completes his/her homework and turns it in on
Thursday (no school Friday).
This week is Red Ribbon Week – “I Believe in Me…Drug
Free” We have lots of activities planned for our school this
week! We have decorated our classroom door, we have made a
classroom banner that reminds us to “say no”, and we have
participated in many other activities. I would like for our
class to earn points for “the teacher wearing all red”! If
you have something red that you could send on Thursday to
help Mrs. Meeks dress in all red, we would appreciate it!
Also, please send in any donations that you have for our
“Zig the Pig Campaign” on Wednesday or Thursday this week!
The class in each grade that raises the most money will
win extra recess and ice cream!!!
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday and
Thursday from 3:00 – 6:00pm. You should have received a
notice of your scheduled time last week. We look forward to
meeting with each of you!!
No school for students on October 26th.
Thank you for all you do to support our class this year!!
Have a great week!
