One Part: The Mentoring Program helps identify students in need of a school-based volunteer mentor. Students can be paired with a high school student/business volunteer. Mentoring is a 10 step process to help students make successful decisions at school.

Second Part: The Mentoring Program is a support team for teachers that need assistance with behaviorally difficult students. We can create strategies to assist teachers with problem solving behavior and assist with pre-screening if needed.
MUSE All BSES students MUSE at BSES is graciously sponsored each year by the PTA and supported by staff and administration.  The faculty sponsors for this program are Mrs. Jana Curry and Mrs. Melanie Campbell. MUSE is a program sponsored by Spartanburg Arts Council that promotes arts appreciation in schools across Spartanburg County.  Each year, the Arts Council selects local performers in the area of music, theater and dance and the MUSE coordinator places them on their school schedule.  There are typically four or five annual performances and each grade level has an opportunity to attend an age-appropriate production during the school day.  These programs are used as learning tools to teach young people about different areas of the arts and help them develop an appreciation for this important part of our culture.

"The Hut - A Reading Safari" All BSES Students All Faculty and Staff Established in 2005 and funded by the Boiling Springs Elementary School PTA, "The Hut" is a renovated portable where teachers can take their classes to enjoy some pleasure reading...away from the normal classroom environment. Many classes enjoy doing their 100 Book Challenge independent reading out in "The Hut".

"The Hut" is decorated with a safari theme and includes comfortable couches, bean bag chairs, rugs, and pillows.  Students can select a piece of text to read from the hundreds of books and magazines located in "The Hut".  It is a common occurrence to see students spending time in the "The Hut" as they cozy-up-with-a-good-book and begin building reading habits that will last a lifetime.

WBSE News

4th Graders Mrs. Monica Kimsey - Director

Mrs. Miranda Borders - Asst.

The WBSE News is one way students get to show off their awesome talents. Our 4th graders take time out of their busy mornings, not only to gather the news, but to deliver the news as well. Each of them volunteers their time to see that their classmates, faculty and staff are given the news each morning. PTA furnishes the needs of the News Show on a yearly basis.

Our crew consists of:

2 Camera Operators

2 Announcers

1 Sound Technician

1 Mixer Operator

2 Gophers/Substitute

The crew meets each school morning at 7:30am to rehearse what information they are responsible for delivering that day. The news starts each morning at 7:40am in the news room located in Room 300.
